Marble – Portrait of Woman
Marble – Portrait of Woman, oil on canvas, 31x23cm (12×9 inches), 2020
Greek and Roman sculptures inspired this painting. The paint on the painting is smudged, and it gives the impression that the face is out of focus. It can be compared to a snap of a photograph that accidentally turned into an unfocused picture.
There is something very light about this painting that makes it easy on the eyes.

Marble – Portrait of Woman II
Marble – Portrait of Woman II, oil on canvas, 31x23cm (12×9 inches), 2020
This painting represents the same person as in the previous artwork but is captured from a different angle. The color tones are warm. The surface of the paint was purposely and softly smudged. It alludes to a sense of motion that can be compared to an out of focus photograph.

Disinformation I – Portrait of Chimpanzee
Disinformation I, oil on canvas, 40x30cm (16x12inches), 2021
For this painting, I used an oil primer under layers of gesso to create a slippery and shiny surface that allowed me to get different effects with both paint and mark making.
I wrote an entire post about this painting that can be viewed here.

Disinformation II – a Portrait in Green Colors
Disinformation II, oil on canvas, 40x30cm (16x12inches), 2021
This painting is the second in a series of monkey and chimpanzee paintings I started in 2021.
At the beginning of 2021, I decided to make a series of paintings with only green colors.
Personally, besides blues, my favorite colors are green and red. I do like to keep paintings in the same tones. This helps to control the focal point and mood of the painting.

Paramount of Eternity 10 – Portrait of Hair
Paramount of Eternity 10, oil on panel, 25x20cm (10x8inches), 2019
I love this painting. It is a portrait of the back of the head. I spent quite some time studying the way hair is painted. It employs a very simple color palette, and it feels as though the hair was painted with just one brushstroke.
I presented this painting at my solo exhibition at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art.

Paramount of Eternity 04 – Girl with Glasses
Paramount of Eternity 04, oil on panel, 25x20cm (10x8inches), 2019
This painting was also part of the pieces that I exhibited at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art.
The piece was inspired by photographs from yearbooks I found at Williams Wood University whilst staying at their alumni house. At the time, I was in Fulton to install my solo exhibition.
Those photographs directly inspired a new body of works. This is painted on a wood panel primed with gesso. I like the lightness of the blue and the grotesque approach to the mouth. It is a simple and alluring portrait.

Reminiscence 013 – Abstracted Face
Reminiscence 013, oil on paper, 20x13cm (8x5inches), 2019
This painting is a part of a project I did in 2019. I created around 20 paintings, one painting a day, during live streams on TikTok and Instagram.
This particular painting took about an hour to complete and is very abstract in its forms and shapes.
Most of the paintings from this series have been sold. I do like this painting, and I hope it will find a new home soon.

Reminiscence 014 – Grey Portrait Painting
Reminiscence 014, oil on paper, 20x13cm (8x5inches), 2019
Grey tones are easy to digest – at least for me. These tones always remind me of the early black and white photographs that can be found all over the internet. Those old photos found on the internet are always very mysterious.
When I look at this painting, I want to know the story of this person. The more I look at this abstract portrait, the more I get the impression that this might be a personification of some animal.

Goggle Woman I – Figurative Art
This painting was inspired by photographs relating to the history of the GoggleWorks company located in Reading, PA. I found those photographs onsite during my artist in residence fellowship in 2018.
It is a medium-sized painting. It is a part of a triptych that you can also find and purchase on Saatchi Art.
