The Other Art Fair Dallas (Virtual) is here from May 25th to May 30th!
I look at The Other Art Fair (Dallas) as an opportunity to present my work to a lot of people in a short time. It is a way to build and connect with an audience who can respond to the artwork directly. Art fairs also connect artists with potential collectors. It is a short but perfect marriage between creators and art addicts.
When it comes to an art fair in which you show your art without having a gallery behind your back, there are many things to consider and do before you even start preparing your booth, but that is another blog post altogether.
For the virtual edition of the art fair in Dallas, I plan to present small works on paper and canvas, most of which are portraits. I am showing about 10 pieces. They are all listed below with images plus direct links to Saatchi Art.
If you have any questions regarding these artworks, please feel free to contact me.
Why did I decide to participate in the art fair?
I decided to participate in The Other Art Fair Dallas as it is an excellent way for me to introduce my work to people and collectors in the area. I am new to Texas and have only been in the greater Fort Worth and Dallas area for less than three years; a year of which was spent in a pandemic, which made meeting new people impossible.
I currently do not have gallery representation which makes me solely responsible for taking care of my visibility, both through exhibitions and in online spaces. I also like to interact with people and meet them in person during the art fair. The in-person edition of the Dallas art fair will take place in October 2021.
The Other Art Fair Dallas (Virtual Edition)
Starting on Tuesday May 25th, 2021, The Other Art Fair Dallas (Virtual) exhibition will be open. All my artworks are uploaded to my online booth and I am ready for this event.
I hope you can join me!
I will be available next week for a virtual studio tour. You can go to my profile here to view the artworks that are part of the show as well as schedule a video call. The call does not need to be related to my paintings. If you have a question about my studio or practice, I will be happy to connect with you.
When does the virtual edition of The Other Art Fair Dallas take place?
The virtual edition of The Other Art Fair Dallas takes place from May 25th, 2021 to May 30th, 2021. You can visit my virtual booth here and browse artworks. It is an easily navigable platform that allows you to see paintings in scale.
You can also check out my Saatchi Art profile and purchase artworks there.
What features of The Other Art Fair (Virtual) should you explore?
Another great feature of an online art fair is the studio visit with the artist. You can watch a three-minute video where the artist introduces themselves. If you have questions about an artwork and/or a specific topic you would like to discuss with the artist, you can schedule a video call. It is a ten-minute video chat in which you can ask questions and get to know the artist better.
This is an opportunity that artists did not really consider offering before the pandemic. You should take advantage of it. Schedule a virtual call with me here.

Founded in London, UK in 2011, the fairs are now firmly rooted in North America, the UK, and Australia with seasonal and biannual versions in Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, London, Melbourne, Sydney, and Toronto. It is a well-curated selection of artists.
Who founded The Other Art Fair?
The Other Art Fair was founded by Ryan Stanier, who also serves as the general manager of the fair.
Why should artists participate in The Other Art Fair?
Whether you are an artist represented by a gallery or not, The Other Art Fair is a great way to present your work to new audiences in a short period of time. You can meet buyers, but also interior designers, curators, gallerists, and more.
There is no one universal argument that can influence artists to apply and participate in The Other Art Fair, as valid reasons may depend upon your personal existing circumstances as an artist.
How can artists benefit from participating in an art fair?
The general expectation artists have when participating in art fairs is that making sales is the priority. Depending on the circumstances, preparation for an art fair and then the art fair itself can be stressful, rewarding, or disappointing. Nevertheless, it is a valuable experience.
Short-term versus Long-term
I always thought that the primary goal of an art fair is to make sales. That happens – some booths sell out of art during fairs, but some don’t. Now, I think of the booth-format exhibition as a way to meet people and try and connect closely with a small amount of the people visiting the fair in order to build relations. Even if the artwork sells during the art fair or shortly after, that doesn’t mean that I will immediately build a relationship with a collector. It might be only a one-time purchase that won’t repeat. That means it was only a short-term benefit, which is fantastic, but the primary goal is to make connections that last.
Making a connection that lasts doesn’t mean immediate monetary success but might lead to other instances that will benefit either the artist or gallery through future opportunities.
Why is Saatchi Art associated with The Other Art Fair?
Saatchi Art realized the importance of physical presence in the art market and acquired The Other Art Fair, in what was considered logical progress for growing both companies.
The Other Art Fair discovers emerging artists and provides on-site and online connections between artists and collectors.
